Human rights issues and the role of election observers in House of Representatives election 2082 - In the presence of election observers, civil society representatives, and journalists, the National Human Rights Commission, Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar, conducted a discussion program on human rights issues and the role of election observers in the context of the upcoming House of Representatives election 2082. The program was chaired by Joint Secretary Bir Bahadur Budha Magar, Head of the Office.

‘Impact of Child Marriage on the Enjoyment of Human Rights,’ conducted in the context of the National Inquiry on Child Marriage, was held in Biratnagar, Koshi Province.

A Consultation Program on the Implementation of the National Human Rights Commission’s Recommendations for the Protection of Human Rights.

NHRC Koshi convened a discussion program with human rights activists to reflect on the nationwide Gen-Z protests of 23rd and 24th Bhadau 2082, the subsequent incidents, and the current situation of those affected in Koshi Province.

NHRC Koshi Carried out a field monitoring From Bhadau 30 to 4th Asoj 2082 in Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari and Udaypur districts to assess the damages caused during the nationwide Gen-Z protests, the impact on people’s lives thereafter, and the current human rights situation.

On 15th Shrawan 2082, the NHRC, Koshi organized an awareness program at Itahari Namuna College in Sunsari. The program was attended by 200 students from grades 11 and 12. It aimed to enhance students’ understanding of various human rights issues and to share information on the key activities undertaken by the Koshi Province Office during the fiscal year 2081/082.

On 22 Ashad 2082, the National Human Right Commission's Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar, held a discussion and interaction with 15 students studying in the Law Unit of Itahari Model College on human rights practice, research and resolution issues.

On Asad 11, 2082, the Commission's Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar, held a discussion and interaction with 35 fourth-year BALLB students of Kathmandu School of Law (KSL) on human rights practice, research, and adjudication.

Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar has conducted monitoring and orientation program on the topic of "Corporal Punishment and Sexual Violence Harassment at Schools" in various schools of Jhapa District on 2082 Ashar 6 and 7B. In monitoring and orientation program there was active participation of students (including members of child clubs/networks, child management committees, captains, and scouts), teachers, representatives of school management committees, local representatives, parents, and others.

Mihir Thakur, Member of the Commission, comprising Joint Secretary Dr. Tikaram Pokharel, Head of the Administration, Finance, Policy Research, and Planning Department, Under Secretary Santosh Acharya, Head of the Policy Research and Planning Division, and Accounts Officer Vijaya Upreti Mainali, successfully conducted the monitoring of Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar.

The National Human Rights Commission, Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar conducted on-site monitoring of the strike called by the ‘No cable car’ group.

On 28th Magh 2081, an interaction program on "State of Human Rights" was held in Biratnagar chaired by the Chairperson of the Commission Hon. Top Bahadur Magar. Secretary Mr. Murari Prasad Kharel addressed the questions and concerns raised during the program.
